Question:
I just removed my Phlat Ball® from its package, and it doesn’t pop completely open. Can I correct this?
Answer:
- When you first remove your Phlat Ball from its package, it may not pop-open fully because it needs some time to “warm-up” and form into its natural ball shape. Your Phlat Ball will warm-up and self-correct as you play with it.
- Or, try the Quick Warm-Up for a faster way to warm-up Phlat Ball. In the open ball position, place your Phlat Ball in direct sunlight up to 15 minutes.
- The Super Warm-Up is the fastest way to warm-up Phlat Ball. With adult supervision, in the open ball position, run Phlat Ball under hot tap water (not hotter than is comfortable to the touch) for up to 30 seconds. Shake ball dry inside and out.
Question:
How can I adjust my Phlat Ball’s time-delay feature? It doesn’t stay in the flat disc shape long enough.
Answer:
For Phlat Ball XT: Your Phlat Ball® XT’s time-delay is designed to perform randomly from three (3) to ten (10) seconds. As indicated on the back of the Phlat Ball XT package, time-delay performance may be affected in wet, sandy, or dusty conditions. This means that anything that might collect on the suction cup and/or plate (the flat, circular piece that the suction cup adheres to) could cause a decrease in time-delay.
Please try the following to increase time-delay performance:
- Please carefully wipe the suction cup and plate clean with your index finger to remove anything that may have collected.
- Please test the time-delay by fully depressing the ball to engage the suction cup. The delay should be between three (3) and ten (10) seconds.
- After cleaning and testing, if you would like to achieve an even longer time-delay, please apply a very thin coating of petroleum jelly (for example, Vaseline Brand) onto the plate with your index finger. This will extend the time-delay.
If you find the time-delay is too long, please carefully wipe any excess petroleum jelly from the plate with your index finger.
For Phlat Ball Jr.: Your Phlat Ball® Jr.’s time-delay is designed to perform randomly from three (3) to ten (10) seconds. As indicated on the back of the Phlat Ball Jr. package, time-delay performance may be affected in wet, sandy, or dusty conditions. This means that anything that might collect on the suction cup and/or plate (the flat, circular piece that the suction cup adheres to) could cause a decrease in time-delay.
Please try the following to increase time-delay performance:
- Using one hand, please slightly depress the ball and hold in the depressed position to allow access to the inside of the ball.
- Using your other hand, please carefully reach your index finger between one of the spring openings and wipe the suction cup to remove anything that may have collected on the suction cup.
- Next, please carefully reach your index finger between one of the spring openings and wipe the plate to remove anything that may have collected on the plate.
- Please test the time-delay by fully depressing the ball to engage the suction cup. The delay should be between three (3) and ten (10) seconds.
Question:
Can I play with my Phlat Ball in the water?
Answer:
Yes, your Phlat Ball will work in water, and it will float. However, please note that Phlat Ball’s time-delay will increase when the suction cup gets wet. This means that Phlat Ball might remain in the flat position for a longer period of time in the water than it will out of the water.
Question:
My new Phlat Ball is tied flat with a string. Am I supposed to remove the string before playing with it?
Answer:
Yes, please remove the string before playing with your Phlat Ball.
Question:
I have the Phlat Ball Glow FX™. How can I make it glow?
Answer:
For the best and longest glow-in-the-dark performance of your Phlat Ball Glow FX, please expose it to direct light for 3 -- 5 minutes before play.
When the glow-in-the-dark effect starts to fade, please expose your Phlat Ball Glow FX to direct light again for 3 – 5 minutes before playing in the dark.
GLOW-IN-THE-DARK-CAUTION:
- Always take care when playing in the dark. Know your surroundings and clear the area of obstacles before each use. Your Phlat Ball Glow FX is not meant for play in complete darkness.
- Certain Phlat Ball Games are not meant for play in the dark. Please go the “Games” section of this website to see which games can be played in the dark and which Games are not for play in the dark. You can also find this information on the inside of the package that your Phlat Ball Glow FX came in.
Question:
How can I set the adjustable knob on my new Phlat Ball XT TDK so that the ball pops open when I want it to?
Answer:
Your Phlat Ball XT TDK will remain in disc form for a random amount of time at each hash mark you set the Time-Delay Knob. The time-delay increases as you turn the Time-Delay Knob in a clockwise direction to each hash mark:
- For no time-delay, please set the Time-Delay Knob to the first hash mark.
- For a longer time-delay, please set the Time-Delay Knob to the second or third hash marks. You will see a longer time-delay as you turn from the second hash mark to the third hash mark.
- For the longest time-delay, please set the Time-Delay Knob to the fourth hash mark.
- Please note that the time-delays at each hash mark may vary.
